It is the responsibility of the traveller to gather information about and obtain required travel documents, visas and travel authorizations (as applicable) needed for entry into the destination country. This includes, but is not limited to, ESTA for travel to the USA and eTA for travel to Canada.
Travelling through Keflavík airport in Iceland
Passengers, travelling onwards through Keflavík airport in Iceland, that do not hold a passport from a Schengen Member State, do not need a Schengen transit visa unless leaving the transit area. That means that if you are just passing by the airport, on your way to your destination you do not need a Schengen visa. Please note that this does not apply to passengers travelling with a passport from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, The Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, and Sri Lanka.
Passengers visiting Iceland before continuing their travel need to make sure that they are allowed to visit the Schengen area before entering the country.
Travelling to Europe
A Schengen visa is one special kind of tourist visa that enables either transit through or an intended stay within the territory of the Schengen Member States for the duration of maximum 90 days (short stay) within a 180-day period. Indian passport holders can apply for a Schengen visa at the embassy of any of the member states.
It is a requirement of the US Department of Homeland Security for all passengers to have a valid visa, or for those eligible to travel under the Visa Waiver Program, to apply for an Electronic System Travel Authorisation (ESTA).
Passengers travelling to Canada must have a valid visa, or for those eligible, apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). This includes those with a study/work permit. Exceptions include Canadian citizens or dual Canadian citizens, Canadian permanent residents, or U.S. citizen. (However, lawful permanent residents of the U.S. need an eTA if travelling by air.) We always recommend getting an eTA before booking your flight to Canada.
When arriving in the UK your passport will be checked upon arrival. It must be valid for the length of your stay. A valid visa might also be required before entering the country, depending on your nationality and purpose of stay.
Visitors travelling to India need to apply for a visa in advance, with two options available: Regular visa and e-visa. The type of visa depends on the passenger‘s nationality. Please remember to print a paper copy of your e-visa. We advise our passengers to seek information from Indian authorities about travel documents and requirements before entering India.
Travelling to Israel
If you are travelling to Israel, and your country of nationality does not have a Visa Waiver Program with Israel, you will need to apply for a visa. All visitors need to a have a passport valid for at least six months from the date of departure.
